The Cemmaes Road and Dolfor Junction Railway

Welcome to the website of the Cemmaes Road and Dolfor Junction Railway (CR&DJR) a 16mm scale, live steam model railway that ran in the heart of San Francisco, California. Here you can explore the history of the line that inspired the model, and follow the construction, running and ultimate demise of the railway.

16mm scale allows large, live steam, narrow gauge trains running in a reasonable space. Usually these are garden railways, but as this site shows you can also run them indoors. The CR&DJR is based on prototype lines in mid Wales, such as the Corris Railway and Talyllyn Railway.
